MeitY launched seven weather services of IMD in UMANG app

The Ministry of Electronics and information Technology (MeitY) has launched seven services of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) App to further enhance the web delivery of state services.

The IMD services (hosted at http://mausam.imd.gov.in) on the UMANG app has been inaugurated by Madhavan Nair Rajeevan, Secretary Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) within the presence of Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology (DGM), IMD, and Abhishek Singh, President and Chief military officer (CEO) of National eGovernance Division (NeGD).

Following are the 7 services are on-boarded on UMANG Mobile application: Current Weather, Nowcast, City Forecast, Rainfall Information, Tourism Forecast, Warnings, Cyclone.

NGO (Non Governmental Organization )Ya_All’s this initiate aims to supply food, health and hygiene of the LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community, people living with HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus), daily-wage earners, children and adolescents. Through the network of 100 volunteers, the organization has provided over 1,000 health kits, 6,500 sanitary pads and 1,500 condoms to 2,000 families and individuals.

IRDAI’s working committee recommended enhancing trade credit policy (TCI) cover to 90% from 85%

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) formulated nine-member expert panel headed by New India Assurance (NIA) Chairman & director (CMD) Atul Sahai has recommended a rise in indemnity (protection against finances) being provided to the policyholders under Trade Credit Insurance (TCI) from existing 85% of the trade receivables from each buyer to 90%.

For Micro and little enterprises (MSEs), 95% indemnity is proposed to supply relief within the event of loss which is beyond their control. The recommendations are aimed toward improving the general business environment by protecting suppliers also as lenders against payment defaults.

ICICI introduced ‘ICICI Bank time of life FD’ a special FD with rate of interest of 6.55% pa for senior citizens

AP’s CM Jagan Mohan Reddy launches Rs 1,110 crores ‘ReStart’ to revive MSME sector

Andhra Pradesh(AP)’s Chief Minister(CM) Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched Rs 1,110 crores ‘ReStart’ a replacement programme to support & boost the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise(MSME) sector within the State.

This initiative will benefit over 72,531 micro-enterprises, 24,252 small and 645 medium scale industries. The government will allocate Rs 200 crores as investment capital by providing loans in partnership with the tiny Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) at a low-interest rate.

11 member high-level committee under the chairmanship of Rajesh Bhushan formed to reform drug regulatory system in India

The centre has constituted a 11 member high-level committee to “simplify and expedite” the drug approval process in India. The committee chaired by Rajesh Bhushan, Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Health was found out by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare(MoHFW) on May 11 as a measure to reform the drug regulatory system in India. It comprises senior health officials, scientists and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. The committee will submit its report within a period of 1 month from the date of its formation.

The Ministry of Health & Joint Drug Controller of India Eswara Reddy will assist the committee to adopt global standards for drug and medical device regulation amid COVID-19 pandemic.
